The first aero jersey project was designed in a split second

When Castelli developed the first aero jersey for road racing in 2006, everyone thought they were crazy. At the time, aero was only for TTs. Performance apparel meant moisture management. And you could win the Tour de France in a baggy jersey that was little more than a polyester T-shirt. Even the aerodynamic consultants expected limited gains, so Castelli called the jersey Split Second, even though they thought, as they do now, that it was worth making even small gains. In the end, the gains were quite substantial, and they completely revolutionized the look of the pro peloton.

Castelli is now on the sixth major revision of the aero jersey. Each generation has become more aerodynamic and more fitted. The Aero Race 6.0 benefits greatly from CFD analysis of caster in the riding position for fabric and seam positioning. It also benefits from feedback from Team Ineos riders, as Castelli has worked to make the jersey comfortable for their long hours of training and then riding in all weather conditions. Version 6.0 is the most aerodynamic and comfortable Aero Race Jersey to date. But they are already at work on 6.1....
